Mobility + Assisted Stretching

Dedicated one-on-one assisted stretching designed to lengthen tight muscles, improve flexibility, and release daily tension.

Guided Muscle Lengthening for Soothing Relief

Sometimes your body needs a little help reaching the stretches and movements that are hard to do alone. In these one-on-one sessions, your provider guides you through passive stretching, muscle release, and gentle joint mobilization to ease tight muscles and help your joints move more freely. It’s a hands-on way to feel looser and more comfortable in your everyday movement. Many patients may be able to use their chiropractic insurance benefits for these sessions, and our team will help verify your coverage.

Who Is Best Suited for Assisted Stretching?

Desk Workers

Sitting, typing, or driving for long hours creates tight hip flexors, a closed chest, and upper back strain. Guided stretching counteracts daily posture habits by isolating hard-to-reach muscles and bringing balance back to your alignment.

Athletes & Active Individuals

Active individuals seeking to improve their performance or recovery. PNF techniques and active muscle release work directly with the nervous system to expand range of motion, open up restricted hips, and improve rotation through the torso and spine.

Stubborn Muscle Stiffness

For those dealing with chronic tightness, limited flexibility, or knots in the lower back, glutes, or shoulders that standard home stretches just cannot seem to reach. Assisted stretching allows you to feel relief that your own stretching cannot achieve.

Seniors & Rehabilitation Support

Designed for seniors looking to stay active and patients moving past surgery. Doctor-led stretching safely lengthens tight scar tissue, opens restricted joints, and helps you move through your day with greater ease.

HOW WE HELP

How Gentle Assisted Stretching Rebuilds Flexibility and Daily Ease

When you stretch on your own, your brain naturally gets defensive. Sensors inside your muscles clamp down to guard against strain, which is why solo stretching often hits a wall. In a doctor-led session, gentle pressure and resistance signals your nervous system to release that safety brake, allowing muscle fibers to safely untangle and relax.

There is also a physical barrier to flexibility. Over time, sitting and repetitive movement cause connective tissue (fascia) to become sticky and matted down. Solo stretching usually just pulls on areas that are already flexible. By stabilizing your frame in precise positions, a doctor isolates the exact tight band of tissue causing restriction, releasing stubborn knots and freeing up your joints.

Calms Your Overactive Nervous System

Constant muscle tightness keeps your body in a subtle stress state. Slow, controlled, practitioner-led stretching lowers your heart rate and signals your brain to turn off the physical "fight-or-flight" response holding tension in your body.

Restores Smooth Joint Movement

Tight muscles drag joint surfaces together, causing friction and stiffness. Lengthening those muscles lets your joints glide smoothly again and pumps natural lubricating fluid back into the joint capsule.

Relieves Nerve Pressure

When muscles stay tight for too long, they compress nearby nerves and pull your joints out of position. Deep stretching relaxes hyper-tight muscles so nerves have space to breathe and pain signals turn off.

Rebalances Your Posture

When one hip or shoulder is tight, it tugs your whole frame lopsided and overworks the opposite side. Balancing muscle length across both sides of your body takes uneven pressure off your spine and discs.

Most Common Questions About Assisted Stretching

If you are new to doctor-led stretching or wondering how your insurance applies to a non-adjustment visit, you are in the right place. Here is a quick breakdown of how these sessions work and the answers to our most common patient questions.

Does insurance cover assisted stretching sessions?
Yes. Because these sessions are led by our licensed chiropractic doctors using clinical soft-tissue techniques, they are billed directly under your standard health insurance chiropractic coverage. You receive specialized stretching without paying out of pocket like at a studio.
How is this different from a regular chiropractic visit?
Traditional visits often include joint realignments, whereas a stretch and mobilize visit focuses entirely on soft-tissue lengthening and joint mobility. Our doctors use hands-on techniques, gentle resistance, and targeted isolation to relax tight muscles without performing any joint manipulation.
What should I wear to my stretch and mobilize session?
We recommend wearing comfortable, flexible clothing that allows you to move freely, such as athletic wear, leggings, or loose gym shorts. Since your doctor will be guiding your limbs through full ranges of motion, flexible clothes ensure maximum comfort.
Can I request a session with zero joint adjustments?
Absoluty. You are always in control of your care. If you prefer pure soft-tissue lengthening and joint mobilization, simply let us know, and your entire appointment will be dedicated to guided stretching and muscle release.
Why is doctor-assisted stretching better than stretching at home?
When stretching alone, your body naturally guards against strain. A doctor can stabilize your body in precise angles, override that natural muscle defense, and target deep, hard-to-reach muscle groups that are nearly impossible to isolate on your own.
Is assisted stretching safe if I have an old injury or past surgery?
Yes. Because your session is performed by a trained clinician, we evaluate your health history and customize every movement around your needs. We respect healing tissue, surgical joint replacements, and past injuries to keep every stretch completely safe and comfortable.
